Elementary School No. 2 played a particularly important role in the post-war years. After the war, the city's population came from different parts of Poland with a general division between those from central Poland and those from beyond the Bug River. The main task was to educate young people in the spirit of patriotism. The historical events organised by the school were therefore of great importance. The newly-established school became a genuine promoter of cultural life in the city and its immediate surroundings.
