On 22 February 2025, the Tourism Day was held in Strausberg, in the sports hall at the Hegermühlen Elementary School. As part of the partnership between the towns of Dębno and Strausberg, our municipality and the Polish-German Cross-border Centre for Natural and Cultural Heritage of the Central Oder Valley Region also promoted themselves at the event.
On that day, representatives of local hotels, restaurants and other service providers presented the wealth of the Strausberg region. During the fair, it was possible to find out about interesting tourist offers, including appealing local attractions: such as historical sights and opportunities for active recreation. As a result, participants were encouraged to discover the delights of regional heritage, whether through individual outdoor excursions or family outings.
The event's programme included a city tour led by Dr Uwe Schieferdecker, during which participants marvelled at the city's architecture and history and were shown the city's tourist development. Participants also had the opportunity to take part in puzzles, test rides on modern bicycles from S3VELO Strausberg and tastings of regional specialities.
The Tourism Day ended with a panel discussion on how Strausberg's historical traces can be transformed into innovative tourism offers, which fostered the exchange of ideas and the making of new acquaintances.
