Steponas Darius and Stasys Girenas - two Lithuanian aviators who undertook to fly across the Atlantic from New York to Kaunas. They chose the date 15.07.1933. They were close to fulfilling their ambitions, flew across the Atlantic, but died tragically in a forest 8 km south of Myślibórz. There is a memorial to the Lithuanians at Lake Zielin.
